The Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro 360: A Premium 2-in-1 Laptop with Punchy Performance and a Touch of Galaxy Magic

Samsung has established a strong foothold in the premium laptop market with its Galaxy Book series. The Galaxy Book4 Pro 360, the latest addition to their 2-in-1 lineup, is a testament to their commitment to sleek design, cutting-edge displays, and powerful performance. For a hefty price tag of Rs. 1,79,990, this ultrabook promises a lot. But does it deliver on its premium promises, or is it just another expensive laptop in a crowded market? Let’s dive into our in-depth review to find out.

Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 Design: Sleek and Sturdy

The Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 sticks to the familiar design language of its predecessors, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. It remains one of the sleekest and lightest 2-in-1 laptops available, boasting a mere 12.8mm thickness and a weight of just 1.66kg.

Samsung has crafted a luxe all-metal chassis that feels sturdy and exudes a premium feel. While the slim profile is impressive, the large 16-inch display necessitates a sizeable bag for travel. The 360-degree hinge is remarkably sturdy, eliminating any wobbly feeling when opening the lid.

Available in a subtle Moonstone Gray finish, the device boasts a matte finish that effectively resists fingerprints and smudges. Upon opening the lid, you’re greeted with a full-size keyboard and a generously sized trackpad. The right side of the device houses a 3.5mm audio jack, a USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 port, and a microSD card reader.

On the left side, you’ll find two USB-C 4.0 ports with Thunderbolt support and an HDMI 2.1 port. The Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 undoubtedly nails the premium aesthetics, showcasing Samsung’s expertise in crafting sturdy and elegant laptops.

Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 Display: Crisp and Fluid

The Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 fully embraces AMOLED display technology to deliver vibrant and incredibly crisp colors. Samsung provides flexibility with customizable display profiles, including Standard and Vivid. The Vivid profile is recommended for enhanced color saturation.

The 3K resolution (2880 x 1800 pixels) paired with a 120Hz refresh rate ensures a fluid and immersive viewing experience. Movies like "Lost in Space" on Netflix showcased deep blacks and remarkable dynamic range.

The display boasts a brightness of 500 nits, making it suitable for use in outdoor lighting conditions. Its wide viewing angles are an added bonus, while the anti-reflective coating minimizes glare for a comfortable viewing experience. The touchscreen is smooth and precise, a delight when using the 2-in-1 in tent mode.

Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 Keyboard, Touchpad, Speakers, and Webcam: Some Hits and Misses

The Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 features a full-sized backlit keyboard with a chiclet-style layout. While it offers short key travel and noticeable keystroke noise, the typing experience is somewhat improved. However, the keyboard feels slightly cramped, requiring users to adapt to its layout.

The keyboard also incorporates a dedicated power button at the top-right corner, which doubles as a fingerprint scanner. Surprisingly, the laptop lacks a facial Windows Hello login feature, an odd omission for a laptop in this price range. While the fingerprint sensor is usually fast, it was observed to stop working intermittently, requiring a restart to function correctly.

The touchpad is arguably one of the largest seen in a laptop. Its smooth surface and responsive touch provide a pleasant experience. Customizable gesture-swiping controls can be accessed in Settings > Touchpad.

The Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 boasts a quad-speaker system that delivers decent sound output. The speakers offer a respectable level of depth and avoid distortion at high volumes. The 1080p wide-angle webcam performs well and supports Windows Studio Effects, allowing for features like auto framing, portrait blur, and more.

Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 Software: Works Better if you have a Flagship Galaxy Phone

Powered by the Windows 11 operating system, the Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 also features Copilot AI, a versatile tool with numerous use cases. I found Copilot particularly helpful in summarizing articles for easier reading. Samsung complements this with a plethora of applications.

Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 Intel Core Ultra 7 Processor

The Galaxy Experience app provides access to a host of apps such as Samsung Notes, Quick Search, Samsung Gallery, Live Wallpaper, Samsung Studio, and more. Those with a Galaxy smartphone can leverage connectivity features like using their phone as a video call camera, dragging and dropping files between phone and laptop, quick share, and other integrations.

The Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 comes bundled with an S-Pen, which is highly responsive and comfortable to use. The S-Pen supports Air Commands, enabling quick access to various features. Among the most useful are Smart Select and Smart Write. Smart Select enables taking screenshots, while Smart Write lets you take notes on a captured screen. These features are particularly beneficial for creators. The ability to add shortcuts to the Air Command tab is a welcome addition.

Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 Performance: Power-packed Performance

The Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 delivers on its performance promises. My review unit was equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 7 processor; daily tasks are a breeze. The laptop glides through multitasking with multiple applications open. The benchmark scores illustrate its prowess:

BenchmarkSamsung Galaxy Book4 Pro 360
Cinebench R23 Single Core11752
Cinebench R23 Multi Core10,961
Geekbench 6 Single Core2,380
Geekbench 6 Multi Core12571

3DMark Night Raid25,726
3DMark CPU Profile7,234
CrystalDiskMark3754.35 MB/s (Read) / 2641.51 MB/s (Write)

The laptop handled a demanding workload without a hiccup, including multiple Chrome tabs, background music streaming, switching between Slack and Chrome, utilizing Copilot for article summarization, and more.

The Ultra SoC supports some casual gaming, but don’t expect stellar performance with AAA titles. The thermal performance needs some improvement, though; the laptop can get warm with prolonged heavy usage.

Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 Battery: Impressive

The Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 boasts impressive battery life. With the balanced profile, I achieved close to seven hours of battery life with medium usage. Heavy usage yielded around five hours of battery life. The company includes a compact 68W fast charger, allowing for speedy charging from 5 percent to 100 percent in 1 hour and 20 minutes.

Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 Verdict

Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 Premium Design

The Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 strikes a perfect balance between premium design and flagship performance. Its all-metal chassis provides a sturdy and sophisticated look, while the slim form factor is a definite plus. The performance aligns with expectations for a thin and light ultrabook at this price point. The sharp display is a strong point, along with impressive battery life and fast charging support.

However, competition in this price segment is fierce. Laptops like the HP Spectre x360, Asus Zenbook 14 OLED, and Lenovo Yoga 7i 2-in-1 offer similar specifications and performance. The Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 is a compelling choice for those seeking a thin and light 2-in-1 laptop, especially if you’re an existing Samsung mobile user looking to create a cohesive ecosystem. It’s a premium experience, but whether it justifies the high price point ultimately depends on your priorities and budget.
